Breastfeeding is as old as biblical times, so when a South Carolina mom was asked to leave church service to finish nursing her child in a bathroom stall, it didn’t sit well with her.
Amanda Zilliken took to Facebook after being asked to leave her church’s service and led to a bathroom where she finished nursing her baby.
“I just got kicked out of church for breastfeeding with a cover on and directed to the bathroom,” she writes. “Shame on you, Elevation.”
Zilliken has been a member of Elevation Church in Ballantyne, an upscale neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina, since 2015. This was the first time she encountered criticism for nursing during church.
