1 Enniscorthy library hosted a first aid parenting event recently that highlighted the importance of basic first aid skills and how it could potentially save the life of a child.
The event was one of a series of talks and workshops currently taking place in the library based around various aspects of health and well-being.
The first aid awareness workshop was delivered by Julie Mellor, from Parent First Aid.
She highlighted to those in attendance what to do in the event that an infant or child in their care is in need of emergency medical attention.
Various different techniques were outlined in addition to what course of action should be taken in terms of getting the child urgent, professional medical attention as quickly as possible.
The workshop was very well received with those in attendance commenting that they picked up some very valuable tips and advice from Ms Mellor.
The skills and techniques they learned could prove invaluable in the event they are faced with an emergency situation and it's only in such circumstances that the value and benefit of such workshops are fully realised.
The management and staff in the library thanked Ms Mellor for facilitating the workshop and she was also acknowledged for the engaging yet informative and educational manner with which she delivered the programme to the attendees.
