In today’s environment, it can be daunting to think about healthcare costs. High deductible plans are all around and where there isn’t a high deductible plan you may find plans that require higher premiums and more out of pocket costs. This can cause stress and make people not want to think about going to the doctor simply because of the cost. Being a person who has faced some tough healthcare issues, I know first hand the importance of early interventions and preventive care. Often this is something that is instilled in women very early on as a regular part of life but it isn’t always instilled in men the same way.
Healthy habits start early. A lot of times we try to develop these habits after we are facing some healthcare scare or having seen someone else go through something. In a perfect world, we would all practice healthy habits regularly. Sadly, we know this world we’ve built for ourselves is far from perfect and when life gets in the way what we should do isn’t always what we actually do. In the real world, however, it would make sense that kids are taught very early to make their health a priority. Your health is your wealth. Without your health, no amount of money in the world will make life easy.
