WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG TV9)- Some Iowa children who were waiting to be adopted now have a place they can call home.
Three judges at the Black Hawk County Courthouse finalized the adoptions of 24 children to 15 different families in Waterloo on Friday. Organizers say many court personnel look forward to National Adoption Month events like this calling it the “happiest day in court.”
At age three, little Aleyah Larson-Barker probably didn’t understand all the fuss. But her grandparents and other relatives certainly did.
Cindy Barker of Waterloo started caring for her granddaughter almost a year and a half ago after her daughter lost parental rights in court.
