MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services is hosting a Foster Parent Open House and Orientation on Thursday, Aug. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cassadaga Community Center, 25 Maple Ave. in Cassadaga.
The purpose of this event is to educate interested individuals on the county’s foster care and adoption programs. This free informational event is open to the public.
Foster homes are temporary places to stay; adoptive homes are forever. Both must be loving and safe environments where children learn to give and receive love and develop to their full potential. Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services has over 100 infants, children and teens currently in foster care placements and several of those are waiting for forever homes.
