Dr. Parnell Donahue, a retired pediatrician who lives in Brentwood, will begin a new radio program, Parenting Matters at noon September 10, 2018, on WBOU 100.5 FM and streaming at WBOU.ORG.
Earlier this year John Bosio, president of Nashville Catholic Radio, asked Dr. Par, as he likes to be called, to consider hosting the radio show After discussion with his wife and officials at the station, Donahue agreed to volunteer.
The series has three main goals. 1) Supporting parents asthe primary and most important teachers of their children. 2) Emphasizing religion as fundamental in raising children of integrity directed by a strong moral compass. 3) Offering parents a path leading their kids to be men and women of character.
Programs will address defining what parenting really is, and what role religion, prayer and discipline have in the process. Other topics include cell phones, peers, education, music, violence, diet, health habits, drugs, alcohol, sex,and on and on.
Each show will be half an hour and begin with a short monologue, followed with comments by an interview with a guest expert, then a panel discussion with a local couple, the guest expert, and Donahue.
