At only 6 years old, Bella Iarrapino of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania is already making a huge difference in the lives of local shelter animals.
“She has loved every type of animal since she could crawl,” says Bella’s mother. “Birds, every type of animal. She just absolutely loves them.”
She participates in the Humane Animal Rescue’s Animal Tales program where she volunteers to sit down with pets and reads her favorite books to dogs and cats to give them some much-needed company.
“I like reading chapter books to them,” says Bella. “Because I just really like them.”
